Your personal assistant in China Private guide Personal translator
moonlight70515@yahoo.com
Hello! My name is Helen. I am an intelligent, friendly,
cultured and knowledgeable young lady who is ready to help you
experience and enjoy Beijing and China like a native. Whether
you are here for business or vacation, I will help you get the
most out of your trip. I can help you in a variety of ways.
Your personal assistant in China. Private guide. Personal
translator. You've most likely invested a minimum of $1,000 for
your airline ticket and a day of your life to fly to Beijing.
Wouldn't it be a shame to rely solely on a group tour to
experience China? Sadly, China is rather "user unfriendly" if
you don't speak Mandarin. Many people in China claim to speak
English, including your tour guides:-) All too often the level
of English is atrocious! That makes everything from dealing
with taxi drivers to shop girls difficult. I am fluent in
English and Mandarin and can help make sure you get what you
want to out of your time in China. I have many satisfied
clients in the USA, Canada and Europe. Perhaps you just want to
visit the Great Wall, Forbidden City, or Tiananmen Square? Or
perhaps you want to visit the Silk Market and have me negotiate
for a great deal on that "Louis Vuitton" purse. The shop girls
here are quite aggressive and many visitors are unprepared to
negotiate hard. It will be very easy for me to save you more
money than my fee in just one shopping spree. Maybe you want to
go out and experience Beijing's nightlife? I can be your
companion for dinner or the nightclub. Or maybe you want a
unique experience? I have arranged for previous visitors to go
shooting on an Army base. Sniper rifles, pistols, machine guns
and even a submachine gun with a silencer! Another client
wanted a tour of the Beijing Air Museum. 400+ planes and
perhaps a dozen visitors to the museum! We still haven't
learned to market some things very well in China:-) I also know
what you don't want to do. You don't want to waste your time
going on various factory tours where your guides get a kickback
based on what you buy. I am here to help YOU. Whether for one
unforgettable day or your entire visit. What do YOU want to do?
I hope you allow me the chance to help YOU. Sincerely, Helen My
rates are $60USD for a half day. $100USD for a whole day (8
hours) $15USD per hour to help you with specific tasks-travel
arrangements, research, reservations, sourcing, etc. I am based
in Beijing, but can travel to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong
etc. if my hotel and travel expenses are paid for. I do NOT
provide massage or sexual services of any kind. That's
certainly easy enough to find in Beijing!

Firecracker Ban Ends after 12 Years
A 12-year ban on firecrackers during the traditional Spring
Festival, China's Lunar New Year, will come to an end in the
national capital Beijing on December 1.
New rules issued by the Beijing Municipal Regulations on
Firecrackers Safety Management were adopted on the 22nd meeting
of the 12th Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal
People's Congress to replace the Regulations Banning
Firecrackers during Spring Festival and other festivals, which
was enacted in 1993.
The new rules allow Beijingers to use firecrackers in areas
within the Fifth Ring Road from Lunar New Year's Eve through
the whole day of the first day of the new year, and between 7
a.m. to midnight each day from the 2nd day to the 15th day of
the Lunar New Year, a major traditional Chinese festival marked
by family reunions.
During other festivals in the year, firecrackers will be
allowed only in restricted areas with the approval of the
Beijing Municipal Government.

Establishes Injury-monitoring Network
The Ministry of Health issued a circular on September 13,
ordering the establishment of a national monitoring network on
injuries and appointed 43 hospitals throughout the country,
including 23 in rural areas and 20 in cities, to do the
monitoring.
These 43 monitoring units will be randomly selected and
could be replaced by others, the document said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies illness into
three categories: infectious diseases, non-infectious diseases,
and injuries.
In China, seven to eight million people die of injuries of
various kinds, accounting for 11 percent of the total deaths in
the country, ranking the fifth among all factors causing deaths
among Chinese, according to official figures.
The ministry also issued its "National Plan on the
Monitoring of Injury".
