Protecting Beijing's Historical and Cultural Heritage
"Protection, Renovation, Extension" is the principle for
Beijing preserving its heritage.
A royal city protection plan has come into being, protecting
the city's original architecture and layout.
Courtyards (sileyuan) also won deserved attention and 539
yards earned protected status. By 2008, Beijing will invest 120
million yuan annually to protect old Beijing.
