Beijing registered 1.85 million overseas tourist arrivals in 2003 that brought the city US$1.9 billion in revenue. The city had 659 tourist hotels at the end of 2002, including 614 that were star-rated. There were 108,000 guestrooms, about 6,000 more than in the previous year.
