In 2003, the added value of the posts and telecommunications sector totalled 17.48 billion yuan, up 12.4 percent over 2002. The city's post sector continued to enjoy sound development with an added value of 16.13 billion yuan, up 13 percent annually. The city's telephone system included 8.37 million lines.
