The mainstays of Beijing's modern manufacturing sector are
four industries and four production bases, which produce a
total of ten major products. The four industries include
automobiles, microelectronics,
optical-machinery-electronic-integration, and the
bioengineering and new-medicine industries. In 2003, the four
industries generated 48.74 billion yuan in industrial-output
value in Beijing, up 33.5 percent over 2002. Profits of 13.84
billion yuan, an increase of 36.4 percent, were reported.
Transportation facility manufacturing (anything to do with
transportation, including vehicles, construction, equipment)
has become a new force within the economy, generating 42.96
billion yuan in industrial-output value.

|
Shunyi Modern Automobile Town is the centre of

and Pinggu. Main products include cars, jeeps and MPVs.

The base includes the Beijing Economic and Technology
Development Area, Badachu Economic and Technology
Development Area and the Linhe Industrial Development
Zone.

Production Base of
Optical-Machinery-Electronic-Integration Industry

Tongzhou District is the centre of this base that
includes parts of the Beijing Economic and Technology
Development Area, Beijing Electronic Town of Science and
Technology Park, Fengtai Park of the ZSTP and Changping
Park of the ZSTP.
