Two hundred information and Internet companies were reported operating in Beijing in 2003. Their combined assets were valued at 7.49 billion yuan. These generated 4.52 billion yuan in revenue and 354 million yuan in profits. About 2,250 computer and software companies were operating with total assets of 85.16 billion yuan.
