Beijing generated 9.53 billion yuan in agricultural added
value, 3.3 percent over the 2002. The combined value of output
came to 23.79 billion yuan for agriculture, forestry, animal
husbandry and fisheries, up 7.5 percent year-on-year. Animal,
poultry and fish farming accounted for 57 percent of the
agricultural sector's output value, an improvement of 0.3
percentage points over the previous year. Cash crops were sown
on 48.5 percent of the farmland available in Beijing
Municipality, up from 45.4 percent in 2002.
