Ten Olympic Franchise Stores to Open in Beijing

Ten retail shops offering franchised Olympic products opened in Beijing.

The openings amount to a trial operation of the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee's official Olympic-products retail programme. Such goods may be sold legally in stores authorized by the committee only.

The 200-300 Olympic products available upon opening will include clothing, stationary, handicrafts, badges, but as many as 10,000 different products are expected to be added to the line-up in the fullness of time.

Counterfeiting of Olympic franchised products is not expected to be tolerated, and special anti-counterfeiting technologies will be used in all the retail outlets to ensure the quality and authenticity of the goods sold.

Olympic Marketing Plan

Olympic Games was officially launched in Beijing, yet another milestone in the city's preparations for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

On July 14, Beijing 2008's banking partner, the Bank of China, signed up, with an undertaking to provide world-class financial services to the Beijing Games.

On June 10, 2004, BOCOG's announced that the Volkswagen Group (China) had become the automobile partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic.

In March 2004, the Lenovo Group, China's largest computing technology equipment manufacturer, signed a milestone deal with the IOC to become the first Chinese enterprise to join the elite Olympic Partner club, which includes 10 other big international names: Coca Cola, GE, John Hancock, Kodak, Panasonic, Samsung, Atos Origin, Swatch, Visa and McDonalds.
