Bars and Clubs

Cafes and bars provide the alternative to traditional Chinese restaurants and teahouses. Apart from Starbucks, most cafes have tea and simple meals. Naturally, the city bars are central to Beijing's quality nightlife. Large bars have performances most nights and the main bar areas in Sanlitun (nr. the Workers’ Stadium), Houhai, Shichahai, Workers' Stadium, Chaoyang Park, Asia Games Village (Yanyuncun) and the university area in the Haidian District are really worth checking out. New popular places include Yuandadu Bar Street, Xingbalu Bar Street.

 

A new bar street opened in the Yuandadu Relic Park area in northeast Beijing late in 2004. Over 20 bars and restaurants are located in a picturesque setting along a canal that runs through Yuandadu park.

 

Newly devised, the area is already a popular hit with young Chinese people who travel from all part of the city to party there. Using the theme of the Yuan Dynasty, Yuandadu offers a fresh alternative for students and locals alike.

 

Situated near Lady's Street, just opposite centrally located Kunlun Hotel and Luftansa Centre, Xingbalu Bar Street is a recent and welcomed addition to Beijing's nitelife. While the city offers many alternatives for those hunting the trendiest spot to kick back and get down. Near by, Laitai (Lady's Street)'s flower and plant stores offers the chance to go completely crazy and buy a million red roses presented later to the one you love in the bar of your choice!! Snack food and dining is also available in the area.
