Beijing's buses and tour coaches

In Beijing, there are lots of buses and trolley buses, and also long-distance buses that provide a national service across China.

Generally, the buses work from 5am or 5:30am to 10pm or midnight. The frequency of departure varies on different routes: usually, every 5 or 10 minutes there is a bus. There are night buses operating from midnight to 5am or 6am. The charges vary from 1 to 6 yuan depending how far you travel.

There are four major long-distance bus stations: Dongzhimen (in the northeast at Dongzhimenwai Xiejie), Muxiyuan (in the south at Haihutun, Fengtai District), Beijiao (in the north at Deshengmenwai) and Majun or Guangqumen ( in the east at Guangqumenwai).

Tour Buses

Beijing has tour buses travelling between major resorts, and begin with  the word 'tour' or you. Each day, they start from 6am, and return 5:35pm. They mainly serve suburban scenic spots.
