Badachu Park is notable for its ancient temples, nunneries and a cave set in beautiful scenery at the southern edges of the Western Hills. The ancient temples and nunneries were built at the end of the Sui Dynasity (AD 581-618) and start of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) and renovated during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It has an area of 250 hectares, and is 464 meters above see level at its highest point.

Badachu Park, enclosed by mountains called Cuiwei, Pingpo and Lushe, contain 12 natural scenes in addition to well-preserved temples, and is unusual as it offers comparatively warm winters and cool summers, the reverse of what the rest of north- west China usually experiences.
