Culinary Delights Grapes are widely cultivated in vineyards around Lake Zurich, and Zurich’s wines are superb. Many winegrowers offer visitors the chance to taste wines and to get to know the culture of Zurich’s wines dating back to the time of the Romans, who first introduced vines from the southern side of the Alps. Visitors can also sample wines in cellars of Old Town. There more than 1,300 restaurants in Zurich, offering fine foods from all around the world, including Zurich dishes, Japanese, French and Chinese cuisines.
