Hyatt Regency Jing Jin City Resort and Spa: For Good Meeting and Good Life

Imagine a magnificent complex resembling an ancient imperial palace: a wedding is taking place, with all the white gowns, rings, page boys and girls you would expect, except that those attending the wedding are members of the media, not the couple’s family. What is going on?

In fact, you would have stumbled upon a promotional wedding fair show hosted by Hyatt Regency Jing Jin City Resort and Spa.

Located in the famous hot spring town of Baodi, Tianjin, the resort is a conference and leisure destination, offering its guests complete conference spaces and services, a host of recreational and entertainment facilities and activities, including cycling routes, horseback riding, a skating rink, a rock-climbing wall, squash courts, bowling, and of course, mineral-rich hot springs.

Partially opened in late 2007, weddings and conferences are the focus of business for the resort, according to Weiming Lim, director of events. The largest ballroom that can accommodate 1,200 people and the 23 function rooms of various sizes, can meet the needs of all kinds of events. And the palace-like buildings with grand front fountains and lawns can be especially pleasing for brides with dreams of the sweet fantasies that attend to a fairy tale wedding. Another attraction—its thermal spa—is scheduled to open in October 2008.

If not for the natural hot springs and the many avenues for relaxation, driving for 100 kilometres (km) from Central Beijing or 70 km from Tianjin to have a meeting might not sound so exciting. However, the experienced hotel management group Global Hyatt Corporation knows its clientele and chose the property based on its understanding of the meeting and leisure-hotel concepts, which are increasingly in high demand in the new China.

“Thanks to the comparatively isolated location, guests can focus on their meetings, especially when they invite some world-renowned industry leaders to speak at their conferences. They will not be disturbed or rushed as they might be in the city,” said Lim.

For the convenience of its guests, the resort has designated two separate wings as “business floors.” Scheduled for completion in spring 2009, they offer rooms that feature an open-air balcony with a built-in hot tub that contains water pumped straight from our natural hot spring. 

In addition to the refreshment people can get from a hot spring spa, guests can also enjoy a 27-hole golf course, a 60-slot golf driving range and equestrian stables.
