4.94 trillion yuan

China's tax revenue exceeded 4.94 trillion yuan (US$670 billion) in 2007, up 31.4 percent year-on-year, the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) said in a statement issued on January 1 in Beijing.

 

15.2 billion yuan

China earmarked 15.2 billion yuan (US$2.05 billion) to support pig breeders until the end of December 2007 to ensure adequate pork supplies, according to a senior official with the Ministry of Finance.

 

100 billion yuan

China's total lottery sales for 2007 were valued at more than 100 billion yuan (US$13.7 billion), an increase of 18 billion yuan or 20 percent over 2006, setting a 20-year record for China's lottery sales.

 

33.6 percent

Fiscal revenues reported by the Beijing Municipal Government in 2007 increased by 33.6 percent to a record 149.26 billion yuan (US$20.9 billion), according to figures released by the Beijing Finance Bureau on January 1.
