China’s population contributes

to soaring housing

prices. However, by 2015,

housing prices might meet a

turning point.

Ha Jiming, a chief economist at

China International Capital Corporation

Limited, speaking at a round-table forum

on real estate bubbles and housing price

controls held recently, said housing prices

in China will likely continue to rise in the

short or middle term, but are expected to

reach their peak in 2010.

Our social responsibility

is more than meeting green

goals. In fact, energy conservation

and pollutant-emissions

reduction can help us save

money and make more profit.

Lu Youqing, vice-president of

the Aluminum Corporation of China,

told China Daily that his company has

combined environmental requirements

with production procedures to achieve

clean production and low emissions.

Top managers of the country's leading

State-owned enterprises (SOE) risk

losing opportunities for promotion or

even their jobs if their companies fail to

meet energy-conservation and pollutant-

reduction targets.

The payment system realizes

nationwide deposits and

cash withdrawals, online or

via-the-telephone inter-bank

payments, which will enhance

the production and livelihoods

of the people.

Su Ning, deputy president of the

People’s Bank of China (PBoC), the

central bank, at a press conference on

China’s financial service reform, said

the high-value payment system (HVPS),

as a key part of the advanced payment

system, enables instant clearing across

the banks nationwide and real-time interbank

bond transactions.

China’s central bank will

persist in combating inflation,

trying to avoid a long-term

negative interest rate.

Yi Gang, assistant governor of

the People’s Bank of China, the central

bank, on August 24, 2007, said precautious

are being taken to fend off a

financial crisis. Yi said it will be bad for

economic development if the interest

rate is continuously negative, but a solution

will take time.
