Luxury is a life style

2007/01/16

Luxury Lifestyle is a new column that we hope to bring some hints for people’s choice on luxury products and services. Whether they are luxury products for garments and accessories, home, fitness, travel, automobiles, electronics equipment, finance or simple tips related to the good life, Business Beijing has an eye out for products and services that will help you enjoy the good life you deserve for your hard work. This issue focuses on classical and elegant men’s watches.

Vacheron Constantin

Established in 1755, Vacheron Constantin is the oldest wristwatch manufacturer in existence. The management strategy of Vacheron Constantin is evident in the slogan: the least lot size and the best quality.

Malte Tonneau-shaped Dual Time, self-winding movement, with 38 jewells. 215,000–236,000 yuan (US$26,875–$32,875).

Malte Tourbillon, manual winding movement, with 27 jewells. 1.042 million yuan-–2.36 million yuan

(US$130,250–$295,000).

Van Cleef and Arpels

Emblazoning some of the most precious and beautiful watch and jewellery creations in the world, Van Cleef and Arpels is a name with a long and illustrious history.

Monsieur Arpels Dual Time has two additional subtleties. The first is a small window on the side of the case at 9 o’clock that reveals the movement and the second is a “generational” calendar engraved on a disc at the back of the case. The calendar shows months, days and dates from 2004 to 2092––which makes it valid for 88 years. However, to personalize the feature, Van Cleef & Arpels will engrave the calendar to begin with the year of the owner’s choice. US$12,900

TAG Heuer

The most exact chronograph and sport wrist watch ever made, the TAG Heuer line focuses on the world of sport, with an eye to the Olympic spirit: to be innovative and more excellent.

The TAG Heuer Carrera luxury aautomatic watch and chronograph is the “must-have” chronography of watch collectors and fans of motor racing.

The Link Series strikes the perfect balance between sports and prestige. Its architecture reveals the power and beauty of steel through the play on contrasts and sleek, clean lines. 15,900 yuan (US$1,987) .

Alfred Dunhill

For more than a century, Alfred Dunhill has been adding to the quality of living for those with both the means and the luxury of time to enjoy life to the full. And speaking of time, for the last seventy years, we have been creating timepieces of imagination and distinction for those very same discerning people across the globe.

Alfred Dunhill Parody Stone

Knight helm-looking watch cover and cross designed totem in the watch stand for medieval Europe knight. The jade material inside with three lions’ images shows a creative design. Global limited 12 platinum watches are worth collecting for every watch’s back carved with a round-table knight name and the parody cattle-headed dog with medieval buffoon hat. 315,315 yuan (US$39,414).

The Acentric GMT looks exactly like an automotive dial, and it features five hands coming from the centre, for easy legibility. One of those hands marks a second time zone, another the date, the remaining three taking care of hours, minutes and seconds. 39,585 yuan (US$4,948)
