Beijing Highlights Talents Needed in 2006

On September 27, 2006, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Personnel announced a talents list concerning the personnel needs of four key development fields: the high-tech and modern manufacturing industry, financial, cultural creative and modern agricultural industries. The list highlights talents in 19 categories related to hundreds of majors.
The financial, cultural creative and modern agricultural industries are new additions to the list.
In the high-tech and modern manufacturing industry, Beijing will focus on the development of talents working in the software and information-service, motor-vehicle, biopharmaceutical and other industries organized into seven categories: computer applications, communications, bioengineering and biotechnologies, motor-vehicle technologies and the mechanical design and automation fields. The talents sought should have received post-graduate or higher degrees, or have two–five years’ development and research experience.
The cultural creative industry needs talents in six categories: performance management, in the production of cartoons and video games and others, film-makers, film media technologists, fine arts, cartoon and artwork creation.
The Beijing Municipal Government will provide corresponding support for the development of talents in key fields, such as policy, capital and services. According to related policies, a person who holds a residential certificate for three years in Beijing can apply for a Beijing “hukou” (a legal certification of Beijing citizenship), as long as the person meets the requirements of contemporary talent development.
