Several tens of large domestic and foreign investors and hundreds of domestic and foreign SP/CP (content provider) enterprises have registered to participate in the events. Three Characteristics of Provincial and Municipal Project Collection The Ninth CHITEC's Project Handbook will be provided to participants. In it, projects from municipalities, cities and provinces will be listed. However, if domestic or foreign producers, suppliers or investors cannot locate a project in the book, other efforts will be made to assist in making proper business connections.
Projects currently available are mainly concerned with "multiple, all-new, and high-tech" projects: Big Numbers. The Ninth CHITEC is bigger and better than ever, with more than 1,000 projects of 27 provinces or administrative regions registered 45 days before the Expo will begin. This is the most in CHITEC history. Top projects are based in Henan, Shanxi and Shandong provinces and in the Ningxia Hui, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous regions. These very positive project declarations will be listed among more than 230 projects the CHITEC Organizing Committee has chosen for the handbook in terms of national industry policy guidance and the peculiarities of CHITEC. New Projects. Many of the projects outlined at CHITEC are key construction projects which are suited to the industrial development guidance contained in the Municipal and Provincial "11th Five-Year Plan Guidelines" (2006–2010). Municipal and provincial governments are working to develop their scientific and technological innovation capacities, along with those of independent research and the development of new brand products with their own intellectual property rights (IPR). This is supportive of the work of the central government in establishing a socialist new countryside. The characteristics of these newly created high-tech projects concerning the agricultural industry are especially outstanding. In Henan Province, a big agricultural producer in China, for example, its projects are quite practically oriented towards marketing and the sharing of science and technology and achieving its goals of agricultural industrialization and increasing benefits for farmers. High-Tech Content. The projects highlighted at the Ninth CHITEC involve many new high-tech fields, such as energy conservation and environmental protection, biomedicines, new materials, energy sources, agricultural science and technology, electronic information, communications, other. Numerous projects have been suggested by key universities, such as the "industrial energy conservation and surplus heat energy recycling and utilizing technology" project of Tianjin University, the "human pancreas stem cell separation and cultivation and industrialized applications" project of Shanxi Northwest A & F University, among others. The qualities of projects brought forth by the municipal and provincial governments involved in CHITEC are obviously much improved, and enterprise introduction, producing techniques introduction and project marketing foregrounds are also very integrative and normative. 30 FORTUNE 500 CEOs will Attend the Ninth CHITEC The Ninth CHITEC will be held from May 23–27 in Beijing. Briefing Concerning Beijing Olympics Marketing Development CHITEC will enthusiastically contribute to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing with its "Briefing Concerning Beijing Olympics Marketing Development," which will be held in the Beijing News Plaza on May 5, 2006. According to the information provided by an official of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), this briefing, led by BOCOG leaders, will emphasize BOCOG's Suppliers and Licensing programmes (including licensed producers and distributors) under the Olympic Marketing Development. There will be golden opportunities for small- and mid-sized enterprises Potential supplier's categories will be confirmed in terms of the practical requirements of the Olympic Games operation in principle; enterprises can provide sponsorships and support in materials, services or finance. The categories of licensed products for the Beijing Olympic Games include: medallions and metal accessories; costumes, clothing and ornaments; toys; stationery; arts and crafts; jewellery, commodities, stereo and video products and publications; sports products, food and other products appropriate to the Licensing Programme. The cooperative relationships with the Olympic Games exist on three levels, which are: Olympic cooperative partners, Olympic sponsors, and Olympic suppliers.
