Six New Types of VAIO on Sale in China

Since November 2005, six new kinds of VAIO laptops have been made available for sale in China, including the TX, BX, FJ, S5, A5 and FS3 series. Along with the updated S5, A5 and FS3 series, the TX, BX and FJ models made debuts in the Chinese market in mid-October in Beijing. Of special note, Sony presented a "converged communication" concept for its business-oriented laptops.

The three new series of TX, BX and FJ cater to different needs of businessmen. The VAIO TX, 11.1 inch-wide screen with a proportion of 16:9 (width and length) is being introduced for the first time across the world. In addition, the LED technology applied on the Liquid Crystal Display screen (LCD) has lengthened the life of batteries, and reduced the thickness of LCD screen to 4.5 millimetres. To meet the needs of high-end markets, BX has added a fingerprint lock and password protection system for hard disks. A video camera attached to BX laptop can be a great help to video meetings. Sony is also producing the FJ series for young and fashionable businessmen. They come with video cameras, laptop bodies with five colours (red, green, blue, white and black), and AV interfaces that connect to televisions.

Combining AV/IT and the concept of "Experiencing Sales," VAIO is trying to take advantage of different kinds of communications channels, as well as mix business and entertainment. The A5 features outstanding sounds effects and other entertainment functions.

Being an updated version of the VAIO S, the S5 series employs PCI Express GeForce Go 6400 technologies, which improves photo processing. And the FS3 has updated its PCI and hard disk.
