China Business Summit Held in Beijing2005/10/28
The China Business Summit 2005 has ended in Beijing on September 10. The protection of intellectual property rights was again highlighted. Participants from home and abroad said that because of the country's strategic development, it is very attractive for them to invest in China, because as more Chinese companies are beginning to compete in international markets and are implementing proper intellectual property rights procedures. Alan Larson, a chief strategic consultant for the World Economic Forum, said, "I think that the stronger the protection of intellectual property rights is, the more investment there will be in the innovation in the industries that are used to generate technology." Presented by the World Economic Forum, the summit aims to create scientific and sustainable solutions for China's next phase of modernization. It mainly focuses on how to accelerate institutional innovation, the reform State-owned enterprises, promote environmentally friendly industries and to develop the rural economy. More than 600 business leaders from China and 35 countries participated in this year's summit. |
