China will allocate US$660 million to grain producing
counties.
The Ministry of Finance will allocate 5.5 billion yuan or
more than US$660 million this year to some 800 grain producing
counties.
Major grain producing areas suffering from low grain prices
are incapable of developing infrastructures, such as
educational and public health facilities.
The government's financial assistance aims to alleviate the
burden on these counties' expenditure and stabilize grain
output.
