Finger on the Capital’s Pulse
2004/11/15
Text by Mercy Sun
Welcome to the 100th edition of Business
Beijing, for us a source of pride and achievement that
coincides with a celebration of our tenth year of publication
in November. As we have reviewed our past works, we have
blushed a bit at some of our shortcomings inherent to first
efforts. Confusion and hit-and-miss experimentation,
conflicting ideas and verbal punch-ups marked our first efforts
as we tried to force our ideas on each other, each individual
adamant that his or her approach was the best.
Now we have evolved into a truly unified team, with a common
purpose, that of providing you with pages that inform, educate
and entertain each month in our magazine and every day on our
Web site at www.btmbeijing.com. We have tried hard to learn
from your comments, criticisms and suggestions about our work,
which we've found to be mostly supportive and helpful. Thank
you for your encouragement and support, and we hope you will
stay with us as we embark on our second "century" of
issues.
From 1994 to 2004, with ten-years of progress, Business
Beijing has established itself as one of the leading
English-language business magazines in Beijing. Business
Beijing has grown in tune with the development of the
capital city.
From the first 28-page issue to the 80-page 100th
issue, Business Beijing has constantly striven to
