More Chinese Investment Abroad
2004/08/26
China's Ministry of Commerce reports that overseas direct
investment by Chinese enterprises totaled nearly US$3 billion
last year, up 5.5 percent over the previous year.
The majority of the investments were in Hong Kong, the United
States, Japan and other Asian countries, in retail and
wholesale manufacturing, business services and
architecture.
This is the first time the Chinese government has issued a
report on the country's overseas direct investment.
