Guangzhou Wins 2010 Asian Games Bid

Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, has won the right
to host the 2010 Asian Games. This was announced by Sheikh
Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, president of the Olympic Council of
Asia, during The 23rd session of The Council in Doha, Qatar.
Guangzhou's successful bidding team was congratulated by
China's State Council or central government, in a telegram
delivered to the session.
Guangzhou is planning to expand the city's airport, build a
new railway station and a new village for athletes, and to make
other improvements to Games venues and infrastructure.
Towards 2008 will monitor business opportunities related to
this latest Olympic win in China.
