Auto Imports up

China imported US$7.01 billion worth of cars, trucks and
auto parts during the first five months of this year, a
year-on-year increase of 29.8 percent, according to the
Ministry of Commerce.
Imports included 77,863 complete vehicles valued at US$2.43
billion. China also imported US$1.52 billion worth of key
automotive parts and US$3.06 billion worth of other automotive
parts during the five-month period.
Sedans were the most imported vehicles, accounting for 67
percent of the total, or 52,137 units, an increase of 28.3
percent. They were valued at US$1.47 billion, up 28.2
percent.
