Volkswagen - Partner of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games

Volkswagen (China) Investment Co Ltd, Shanghai Volkswagen Co Ltd and FAW-Volkswagen Co Ltd, to be the Beijing 2008 Partner (Automobile). Volkswagen will provide financial, automotive and other types of support for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, BOCOG, the China Olympic Committee, as well as the Chinese Olympic teams participating in the 2006 Olympic Winter Games and 2008 Olympic Games. Volkswagen is the largest vehicle manufacturer in the auto industry in China.

"We are very excited and proud of being appointed the official partner for the Olympics in Beijing, and at the same time, we are aware that it is also a responsibility and challenge for us," said Bernd Pischetsrieder, chairman of the board of management of Volkswagen.

"Volkswagen is grateful for the trust that BOCOG, the Chinese Government and the Chinese people have in us. It is a great honour for Volkswagen to become the Beijing 2008 Partner (Automobile) and to receive this endorsement from BOCOG."
