Wangfujing

A pedestrian street with English language bookshops, shopping malls, galleries, street performers, and food stalls, and silk and garment shops. Take the subway to Wangfujing.

Panjiayuan Market

Known locally as the Dirt Market or Sunday Market, this is the place for antiques, arts and crafts and old-style furniture. A fascinating once-in-a-lifetime shopping opportunity - don't forget to haggle!

Friendship Store

Located on Jianguoamenwai, the store provides upscale traditional Chinese goods including silk clothing, jewellery as well as furniture, carpets and rugs. A 10-minute walk from Jianguomen Subway.

Hongqiao Market

Also known as the Pearl Market, this store offers the enthusiastic shopper more than they could wish for including pearls, jewellery, jade, art and craft, antiques and clothing.

Xidan

Xidan commercial area, north of Chang'an Avenue, gives a wide range of shopping options. The Book Mansion, Beijing's biggest bookstore is located here.

Liu Li Chang

Beijing's most well known antique street. You can find old Chinese books, traditional paintings and brushes. The best place to get your very own Chinese name stamp. Take the subway to Hepingmen, and walk half way down Nanxinhua Jie.
