Sino-UK business website launched in London
2004/05/15
Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and British Deputy Prime
Minister John Prescott jointly launched a Sino-British business
website on May 10, in a bid to further boost economic and trade
cooperation between the two
countries.
The website, developed by China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT) and launched under the help of
China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), aims to offer a platform
for both Chinese and British business circles intending to
invest and do businesses in each other's countries, Yu
Xiaodong, Director General of the Economic Information
Department of CCPIT, told Xinhua before the launching
ceremony.
"Businessmen registered in both CCPIT and CBBC from both
countries from now on can have an access to all kinds of
trustworthy, reliable and authentic information concerning
investment opportunities and products supply chains," said
Yu.
He said the businessmen in both countries could read
information in both English and Chinese on the website through
a HS customs code system which can change product names
automatically, and that information including commercial
seminars, trade and industrial delegation visits, as well as
trade exhibitions, can also be found on the website.
