National Olympics Centre, Workers Stadium to Grow

Beijing s National Olympics Centre, originally constructed for use during the 1990 Asian Games, is to be doubled to more than 60 hectares (600,000 sqm).

A new drug testing centre, athlete apartments and training gyms will be built in the expanded campus. Beijing Workers Stadium, opened to the public in 1959, is also to undergo rebuilding to host the 2008 soccer fixtures.
