New Shopping Venture in Crosspoint

Xinjiekou, Xicheng District, has had a long reputation as a shopping street, famous for its musical instrument stores and DVD shops. However, these small shops somehow kept this area from becoming more fashionable and prosperous. Now the government has decided Xinjiekou needs a new look. And it has by connecting the area to Xidan, one of the most prosperous commercial areas in Beijing, with a 500-metre shopping street. Located in the centre of the street, Crosspoint, a branch shopping mall, is to be opened in the summer of 2008, bringing a new approach to and experience of shopping.
With an area of 32,000 square metres, Crosspoint aims to become the first Lifestyle Mall in China, giving their customers a new lifestyle experience, combining shopping, entertainment, dining, gymnasium and leisure/recreational activities. The project is invested by Fraser Property, a Singapore brand with a history of 124 years and branches in more than 20 countries.
