Summer Mushrooms at S'Silk Road

2007/07/31

Known in English as South Silk Road or S'Silk Road or Chamagudao, the restaurant is housed in a trendy SOHO address and is adorned with trendy art work and furniture. It also has trendy prices to go with a trendy menu and a trendy yuppie crowd, and above all, good food. S'Silk Road serves a modern interpretation of Yunnan food, with fresh wild mushrooms, homemade rice wine.

For the summer season, the restaurant specially designed a new menu with mushroom dishes. Mushrooms are the perfect ingredient to help keep you looking and feeling good this summer. Low in energy, fat and sodium, whilst high in water and fibre, they make a filling and satisfying ingredient or even a meal in their own right. One serving provides only 10 calories and 0.1g of fat.

Mushrooms are prized because they are a source of many important vitamins and minerals including B vitamins, iron, potassium and selenium. S'Silk has developed various ways of cooking this ideal ingredient for the season, some of which are not to be found elsewhere.
