CD Launched at Centro Bar and Lounge, Kerry Centre Hotel
2007/07/31
Centro Bar and Lounge at The Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing hosted a party to launch the long-anticipated limited edition CD The Best of Club des Belugas at Centro on Friday, June 15, 2007. Award-winning Centro Bar was licensed to cut 1,000 limited edition CDs with Club des Belugas, a group originating in Germany that is creating waves in the European club scene.
In addition to Club des Belugas’ live performance, partygoers were mesmerised by models clad in La Perla's provocative fashion, with show-stopping hair creations by Eric Paris and faces perfected by the iconic Make Up For Ever’s cosmetics. It was a glittering constellation of French brands where La Perla’s “SCANDALOUSLY RESPECTABLE” Spring and Summer 2007 collections were matched by Eric Paris’ “French style” personalised to the Chinese beauty, and complemented by Make Up For Ever’s wide-ranging collection of perfectionism-inspired make-up.
Club des Belugas’ unique brand of contemporary music fuses lounge and nujazz with Brazilian beats and black American soul from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. Their outstanding repertoire includes German club chart toppers “Hiphip Chinchin” and “Gadda Rio.” Voted “Best CD of the Year 2006” by Shirokko Music (www.shirokko.de), Apricoo Soul is a masterpiece featuring “Mambo Italiano,” the first internationally recognised remix of any Dean Martin track, authorised by Capitol/EMI and the Dean Martin family.
A favourite in the dance community, Club des Belugas’ tracks have been used in more than 160 compilation albums, including Hotel Costes, Brazilectro, Claude Challe Presents, Campari Lounge, Martini Moods, Man Ray, Klassik Lounge, Paparazzi, Café de Paris and Stephan Pompougnac's Sound of Summer.
The partygoers each received a bottle of Mini Moet, Club des Belugas’ memorabilia and exquisite gifts by La Perla and Make Up For Ever. The 1,000 limited edition CDs and other memorabilia are on sale at Centro Bar and Lounge, and the group will perform live at Centro from June 10–September 9, 2007, every evening except Sundays, from 8:30–11:30 p.m.
