Cultural Creativity to Tie with Daxing Watermelon

The 19th Daxing Watermelon Festival will be held in Daxing from May 28 to June 1. In addition to its traditional programmes, such as the Watermelon King Challenge Match, the organizing party has promoted a new measure, the collecting of designs of cartoon and caricatures for Daxing tourist products. In the past, a funny watermelon moppet with a bowler hat represented this festival and became a significant brand label. Organizers want to retain the basic idea and image, but also to update it and make it more modern. In addition to that, a caricature based on cartoon images and flash work is also needed for this watermelon festival.

Another new term in this festival is newly designed tourist products. Every guest to this festival will receive a specific tourist product. The design of the products is under way, and anyone interested is welcome to participate.

The Daxing Watermelon Festival is held on May 28 every year. The first festival was held in 1988. Panggezhuang Village is the centre of Daxing's watermelon culture.
