Taiwanese Artist Exhibits Sculpture
2006/04/01
As part of the important Taiwanese artists' homecoming to
the mainland activities, Space for Imagination, a
sculpture exhibition of Shiau Jon Jen was held March 15-25 in
Hall No. 2 of the National Art Museum of China.
Born in Zhanghua, Taiwan, in 1954, Shiau Jon Jen has nearly
20 years' experience in art-park planning, which has given him
a unique understanding of the use of space. In 1997, he was
invited to design the Yuzi Paradise in Guilin, Guangxi
Province. The project was later cited as a holy temple of
contemporary sculpture in China. Since then, Shiau Jon Jen has
contributed to the development of contemporary sculpture and
architecture in China.
The Space for Imagination exhibition, organized by
the Centre of International Cultural Exchange, was designed to
promote cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the Chinese
mainland, and included one of Shiau Jon Jen's best works "My
Forest."
