The 6^th Meet in Beijing Arts Festival

“相约北京”联欢活动是由文化部、国家广电总局和北京市委联合主办的大型综合性国际艺术节。每年5月在北京举行，为期一个月，自2000年举办以来，已成功举办五届，吸引了世界各地100余个艺术团体和艺术展览前来参加，进行了400余场演出和展览，直接参与“相约北京”联欢活动的各国观众达100万人次。

曾应“相约北京”邀请来华演出的著名团体及演出有美国费城交响乐团、英国皇家莎士比亚话剧团、捷杰耶夫歌剧盛典、多明戈独唱音乐会、蒂娜·阿瑞娜音乐会和音乐剧《猫》等。

第六届“相约北京”联欢活动将于2006年4月30日至5月27日在北京举办，其主题为“人民的艺术节”。三大组成部分为剧场演出、广场联欢和艺术展览；其中剧场演出包括以下主题版块：墨西哥主宾国、中法文化交流之春、意大利文化节、俄罗斯文化节、中国版块。本届相约北京活动共涉及演出项目50余个，演出人员达1500多人，其中剧场演出27项，广场演出26项，展览5个，预计直接观众达到50万人次。

在剧场演出中的最值得关注的项目有来自贵州的《多彩贵州风》、香港话剧团的《倾城之恋》、话剧《红玫瑰与白玫瑰》、中法合作的芭蕾舞《卡门》、《阿莱城姑娘》以及《雷蒙达》、中法合作荒诞派话剧《犀牛》、俄罗斯话剧《小市民》和意大利现代舞《天籁之音——玛丽亚·卡拉斯》。

The Meet in Beijing Arts Festival is a large-scale international festival hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. The festival promotes Chinese Culture by bringing top quality foreign artists to Beijing and which strengthens cultural exchanges. The Meet in Beijing Arts Festival has established itself as one of China's state-of-art cultural events by featuring cultural universality and diversity. Since its inauguration in 2000, the festival has been held five times, successfully staging 400 performances and exhibitions by more than 100 international artistic troupes that have been viewed by millions of people nationwide.

Famous troupes that have performed include The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Valery Gergiev, Placido Domingo, Tina Arena and the musical production Cats.

The one-month-long 6th Meet in Beijing Arts Festival will take place from April 30 to May 27, 2006. The theme of this year is The People's Festivals and is composed of theatre performances, outdoor activities and art exhibitions. Highlights include the festival's guest country, Mexico, the Sino-French Cultural Exchange Festival, the Italian Cultural Festival, the Russian Culture Festival and the Chinese Arts Sector. The 2006 session will feature more than 50 productions with at least 1,500 performers. A total of one-half-million people are expected to attend the events.

多彩贵州风Wind of Colourful Guizhou

反排的木鼓，以她走出了国门的骄傲步伐，展示着苗家人的当代气派；黔东南从江山谷中岜沙汉子肩上的猎枪和手中的镰刀，演绎着苗家的远古文化一直保存到网络时代的古今传奇；伴随着花桥鼓楼一路走来的侗族大歌从清水江边唱到了巴黎的塞纳河畔；生活在深山箐林中的瑶族同胞在阳光下享受这大自然的无限风光；记录着土家族历史的摆手舞讲述的是一个别样的美丽故事；布依人家织机上跳跃着的是快乐时光；水族的小伙子们沉浸在丰收的喜悦里；热烈奔放的“阿西里西”则是彝家姑娘小伙的最爱；仡佬族村寨的小河边，动人心扉的缠绵情歌随着清清的波浪飘向远方……

《多彩贵州风》的演出阵容是由贵州省歌舞团、贵州省民族歌舞团、贵州省花灯剧团三个专业表演艺术团体共同组成的。在这个堪称豪华的演出阵容里，集中了贵州众多优秀的艺术家和极具潜力的青年演员，这些艺术团体及其艺术家们的足迹，曾遍及亚洲、欧洲、美洲、非洲的数十个国家。他们联袂带给大家的，将是一次文化的盛宴，一次难忘的审美享受。

The opening-ceremony performance, Wind of Colourful Guizhou, will feature three top provincial troupes from Guizhou along with performances of the traditional songs and dances of Southwestern China's minorities.

More than one-third of Guizhou’s population is made up of minorities. Other than the Han ethnic group, there are 17 other groups native to the area, who have retained their conventional ways of living. They sing to express themselves and they dance as a form of prayer. This show will vividly portray, via songs and dances, how the Miao people hunt, the Dong people celebrate their harvests, the Yao people appreciate nature, the Buyi people weave and how the Yi boys demonstrate their love for their lovers and more.

 

中法文化交流之春Sino-French Cultural Exchanges

2006“相约北京”，是体验激情活力的天地，是交流文化情感的空间，更是展示多元艺术的舞台。继“中法文化年”之后的“中法文化交流之春”则让北京的春天倍添妩媚，时尚大师皮尔·卡丹亲自设计的服装，将会在法国经典歌曲和中法顶级舞蹈《玫瑰人生——法国古典金曲舞蹈晚会》中绚丽登场。而和著名荒诞剧《等待戈多》齐名的话剧《犀牛》，在旅法导演宁春艳的精心编排下，通过人人都被异化成犀牛的故事，留给我们对现代生活无序紊乱的无限思索。法国里昂童声合唱团、法国歌剧演唱会、法国室内乐则以色彩斑斓的姿态，展示给观众一个音乐的法国。

The most important aspect of 2006 Meet in Beijing is its focus on the continuation of cultural exchanges following the highly successful French Year in China. Exchange projects involved in this arts festival are mainly Sino-French cooperative programmes involving performances of Carmen, L'arlesienne and Raymonda, choreographed by Roland Petit and presented by China's Central Ballet Troupe; Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros, directed by French Chinese Ning Chunyan; Babel, Mars Tour, Declic Night and a symphony concert, presented by both French and Chinese artists; a choral concert by Lyonnais and Beijing children troupes; a classical song and dance show, sponsored by Pierre Cardin and produced by French and Chinese dancers; and an electronic music feast from Wang Lei, a Chinese, and the French band Hightone.

 

倾城之恋Love in a Fallen City

为纪念张爱玲逝世10周年，香港话剧团联合香港话剧界精英、特邀香港影帝梁家辉制作了新势力话剧《倾城之恋》。该剧聚集了香港话剧界的大批实力派人物，导演毛俊辉是香港话剧团艺术总监，主演苏玉华、刘雅丽都是香港话剧界顶尖人物，而且都出身香港演艺学院。这部作品代表了目前香港新话剧势力的最高成就。

《倾城之恋》讲述了日军攻陷香港前夕，发生在沪港之间的一段爱情故事，女主人公白流苏出身没落的上海大户人家，带着旧时代女性的生存观和婚姻观，同时又多少受到新式爱情观的影响；男主人公范柳原则是完全接受西方教育，骨子里却渗透着浓厚东方情结的放荡公子。两人的恋爱更像一次次情场斗法，贯穿始终的却是男人和女人各自的爱情法则。直到香港沦陷，两人才在一座城市的倾倒面前大彻大悟，小人物的渺小和大时代的动荡最终使他们走到了一起。

Love in a Fallen City

The Hong Kong Repertory Theatre reproduced Eileen Chang's classic novel Love in a Fallen City commemorating the 10^th anniversary of the writer's death. The theatre has a "shining" cast and crew, including guest leading artists Leung Ka Fai, Louisa So and Alice Lau; director Fredric Mao; adaptor Chan Koon Chung; composer/lyricist Chung Chi Wing; choreographer Yuri Ng; set designer Kelvin Tsang; costume designer John Chan; lighting designer Leo Cheung and singing coach Eli Fung.

In Love in a Fallen City, Japan's occupation of Hong Kong provides a stirring background for the love of Fan Liuyuan (played by Leung Ka Fai) and Bai Liusu (Louisa So). Their love can be a cosy tete-a-tete, a stake of Bai Liusu's future or a war between man and woman.

 

天籁之音——玛利亚·卡拉斯Maria Callas: La Voix des Choses

这是俄罗斯和比利时血统的、多才多艺的编舞米沙·冯·荷克最近的一部令人激动的作品。冯·荷克摆脱了所有的传记和编年的诱惑，把一个活生生、令人激动的卡拉斯的形象呈现在观众面前，通过自由联想再现了她的历程：从希腊悲剧面具到日本艺人的浓装的脸，与舞蹈相伴的是卡拉斯的声音，是她在演绎那些古典的咏叹调和一些不那么流行的片段，比如用英语演唱的韦伯的《奥伯龙》。用镶嵌画的方式，他们生动地呈现了多个女性的形象：尤丽狄茜、美迪娅、玛格丽特、卡门、罗西娜、伊瑟，这些人物不光令观众，还使他们更加接近伟大的女高音玛利亚·卡拉斯那不安的灵魂。

"I have always felt that dance is an interior song," Micha van Hoecke wrote in the programme note for Maria Callas: La Voix des Choses. That enigmatic statement can easily prompt speculation about movement, music and emotion. Ten female dancers symbolize aspects of Callas, who on stage could magnificently convey a sense of grandeur and turbulence. The seven male dancers seemed, at various times, her lovers, figures from operas and myths and personifications of feelings. The 75-minute production by Belgian-born choreographer Van Hoecke is a taped collage featuring arias by the great soprano Maria Callas.

 

墨西哥国家歌舞团Ballet Folklorico de Mexico

墨西哥的民间舞蹈历史悠久，与时俱进。观众对墨西哥舞蹈的印象是旋转的舞姿艳丽华贵、伴奏音乐编排独特、乐曲美妙。成立于1952年的墨西哥国家舞蹈团既继承了这些优点，又在保持其本质的基础上做出了重大改进。同时，这也是与舞蹈团创始人阿马莉亚·赫尔南德兹的努力分不开的。赫尔南德兹基本功扎实，富于创造性，拥有深深的爱国情操，这让她能成功的提炼、升华古典舞蹈的精华，并在自己的舞蹈中加入对自然、勇气、爱和死的敬畏和崇拜。

赫尔南德兹的个人风格塑造出如今舞蹈团所具有流畅的舞步、优美的舞姿、纯正的技术。这个成立伊始只有八个成员的舞蹈团今日已经是蜚声国际的、由墨西哥政府资助的、墨西哥最大的歌舞团了。

Mexico's national dance company was founded in 1952 by the dancer, choreographer, and teacher Amalia Hernández. Sponsored by the Mexican Government, it is headquartered at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico City and regularly tours worldwide. It began as a company of eight dancers that produced dances based on Mexican folklore for television and concert performance. Greatly enlarged, today it is recognized as one of the world's pre-eminent "ethnic" ballet companies and presents a wide range of colourful dances that spotlight Mexico's regions, history, and culture. The company also runs a dance school.

2006鼓动中国音乐会The World of Percussion

李飙五岁开始学习音乐。童年时，便显示出对音乐的特别才能及兴趣，1982年进入北京中央音乐学院附中学习打击乐器。1988年毕业时，作为中国第一位公派打击乐学生，被中国文化部选送到苏联莫斯科柴科夫斯基国立音乐学院随斯留基耶夫教授学习。

他目前是世界音乐舞台上为数不多的全职打击音乐独奏家，以他对打击乐独奏的特别领悟和独特的演奏风格，被舆论认为是当代最优秀的打击乐独奏家之一。

李飚打击乐团则是世界上最优秀的职业打击乐团之一，其演出足迹遍及世界的著名艺术节和音乐活动中；演奏的音乐风格涵盖五个大陆：古典、爵士、现代、流行；使用乐器近一百种，重量近5吨，这使得他们的音乐会色彩斑斓，耀人耳目。欧洲的报纸曾经这样恰如其分地形容他们的演出：一次全方位多感觉的音乐世界之旅。

In the recent international music scene, Li Biao is considered one of just a few truly outstanding solo percussionists. His astonishing technique and profound understanding of percussion instruments, as well as his extraordinary musicality, have earned him a reputation as one of the best Asian solo percussionists.

Born in Nanjing, China, in 1969, he began his musical studies at the age of 5 and soon was discovered as one of the most talented musicians in China. He attended the Beijing Conservatory of Music, Moscow's Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Munich Conservatory of Music.

As a soloist, Li has performed a variety of music pieces from different periods. He has also inspired many accomplished composers to write solo percussion music to fit his unique style. All the pieces have been performed during his tours with great success. Li is a master of more at least 50–60 different percussion instruments that originally came from Africa, the Americas or Asia.
