Charming Beijing Broadcasted on Air France Flights2006/01/27
Charming Beijing, a short video presentation about urban development in China's capital city is being shown on Air France flights around the world. It is the first in-flight video presentation about Beijing ever broadcasted by a foreign airline. The four-minute film will be played on all Air France flights of more than three-hour's duration for one month. Charming Beijing paints a portrait of the city's historic culture, modern vitality, enthusiastic residents and the active but deliberate steps it is taking to prepare for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. The film was produced in collaboration with the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Committee and the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal Government. The show will give passengers a taste of the city's splendour, an insight into its capabilities and the source of its confidence in pursuit of the vision: "New Beijing, Great Olympics." The video, the first promotion of Beijing of its kind, has been broadcast on all Air China flights since January 1, 2006. Monthly, more than 80,000 Air China flights offer a view of Beijing's unique charms to passengers from all over the world.
As the first western airline to serve new China, Air France began its Paris to Beijing service in 1973. To better serve its Chinese customers, Air France has provided Chinese interpreters on all the flights departing from China to Paris (including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong). |
