New Gallery Pops up in Beijing

Sanjiang Gallery, newly opened in the mid December of 2005 at Jianwai SOHO, is a rare tranquil place in the city core. It exhibits both Chinese and foreign art pieces. Among them, most are oil paintings, plus four pieces of Wang Yidong's line drawing.

Currently, Chinese oil paintings include famous masterpieces from Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong, Li Xiaoke, Qi Baishi and Fu Baoshi. Russian oil paintings are composed of . "As 2006 is the Year of Russia in China, we talked to from in 2005 on introducing contemporary masterpieces to Beijing." Zhang Qing, the general manager of the gallery said.

Besides the above masters, the gallery also introduces a few contemporary young artists, like Huo Wenqing. "We want to provide platforms for outstanding young artists."
