TeleMusic on Stage

2005/12/01

Following on the heels of the First Cyber Songs Ranking Awards Ceremony held in Qingdao on August 12, Beijing will host its First TeleMusic Original Song Competition on December 12, 2005.

TeleMusic refers to a platform that transmits and acquires music via telecommunications methods, such as the Internet. China's first promoter of TeleMusic, A8.com is creating a new format for original songs and their writers. Traditional record companies promote songs via their contracted singers, while A8.com promotes original songs directly and cooperates with the record companies to marketwise these songs and, on some occasions, the song writers.

This brand new music-transmitting format achieved its first success in March 2005, when A8.com collected more than 1,200 original songs and helped the writers sell some to stars Fan Bing and Xie Na.

Two months later, A8.com started this First TeleMusic Original Song Competition. International record companies and professional musicians have been invited as judges and final results will be announced on December 12. Sponsors and participants include China Mobile, MTV China, Time Warner China, Pepsi Cola, sina.com, sohu.com, netease.com, Channel V, CCTV, BTV and famous DJs from 21 television stations.
