Magic of Love

2005/10/01
Text by Hellen Zhou

A father-and-daughter team will perform Magic of Love, the successful magic musical that has already toured Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan and USA at Tianqiao Theatre November 3-6.

This musical is unique in that it is the first time in the world that world-class magic, original songs and a heart-warming story have been so skilfully woven together in one performance.

Magic of Love shows the story of how a father and daughter, played by Lawrence and Priscilla Khong, are driven apart by the power of fame, only to be reconciled through the magic of love. One of the highlights of this production is "the Ultimate Water Torture."

This brand new illusion was designed and created specifically for Lawrence Khang by world-renowned magician and magic consultant, Andre Kole. Weighing more than a ton, the Ultimate Water Torture mechanically spins 200 gallons of water at a rapid rate of 17 rounds per minute.

In this most death-defying illusion, the audience sees Lawrence spinning inside the tank fighting for breath; only to take everyone by surprise by, hopefully, making his magical escape.
