Asian Escape

Though Southeast Asian style -- including Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Indonesian and fusion -- and Indian restaurants are the best places to savour summer and even the air there smells like tropical sunshine, BTM will recommend Japanese and Korean style restaurants, whose total number is more than 400, four times higher than that of Southeast Asian ones. What 's more, the Korean cold noodle is so popular in Northeast China that you can easily find them in numerous Chinese restaurants. The price is in general below 30 yuan, sometimes as low as 8 or 10 yuan.

Japanese restaurants are a synonym of high prices, but they offer a rich selection in cold dishes and mostly provide buffets. Much has been known about sushi and sashimi and you can turn to the Japanese noodles. Such noodles are always accompanied by several kinds of seasonings and sauces and some are even served over ice cubes.

Sweet Treats

Most popular brands of ice-cream stores remain Häagen-Dazs, Baskin-Robbins, Dairy Queen and TCBY, who are not hesitate to present new products this summer. In supermarkets, you can find Bud's, Nestle and Walls.

Cold drinks are a must in summer. Ice coffee and bottled drinks are so common and available everywhere. BTM will recommend two kinds of Chinese drinks, one being the Cantonese cool tea and the other sour plum juice. In the drugstores and supermarkets, you can get Wang Lao Ji cool tea and Xin Yuan Zhai sour plum juice, the golden brands in China's drink industry.

Made in China

Chinese cuisines provide diners with such rich choices that BTM will focus on the most common ones, which are available in almost every Chinese restaurant.

The recommendations are representatives from different part of China. Manchu potato noodles salad with shredded pork and vegetable, though with noodles, is a cold dish.
