Nanshan Spring Skiing Gathering

2005/03/30

The Third Nanshan Skiing Competition, with participants wearing swimming costumes, was held on March 6. Thirty-nine competitors from China and other countries, including Canada and France, took part in the event. Rather than a professional competition, it proved a cheerful gathering of sports lovers welcoming Spring.. Novel clothing and bodily make-up were the main judging standards for those who took part.

All competitors, old and young and of both sexes, wore exaggerated clothing, including Samba dress and bikini swimwear. Li Caicai, wearing nothing but leaves in his imitation of Adam in the Garden of Eden, won best male outfit award. This was his second award triumph. His Eve, wearing a bikini, won "the best female player" award because of her healthy, lovely image. Five children also took part in the event, the winner being 5-year-old Yang Long.

A total of 12 awards were made, including for the best clothing, performance, "dress up", and the youngest participant. Prizes included free entry vouchers to Nanshan Skiing Resorts, ski bags, sweaters and other items.
