An international photographic exhibition will be held at the
Imperial Palace throughout October this year to celebrate the
80th anniversary of the Imperial Palace Museum, best known as
the Forbidden City.
The theme of the exhibition, "A Dialogue between
Civilizations", includes 300 works by 36 foreign and domestic
photographers. Major participants include fashion photographer
Annie Leibovitz; National Geographic photographer
William Albert Allard; and war photographer James Nachtwey.
This is the first time the 500-year-old Forbidden City has
opened its gates for an exhibition of modern photography.
