Picasso Painting Show to Open in Beijing

An exhibition, the largest ever in Asia, of Pablo Picasso's
paintings will be held in Beijing from March 20 to May 20,
2005.
The 265 paintings, insured for more than 100 million yuan
(about US$12.1 million), will be displayed in a royal garden
near the Forbidden City, the exhibition's organizer, Beijing
Radio, said in a January 13 Xinhuanet report.
The paintings will be organized and presented according to
eight themes in the artist's work, including animals,
portraits, poems and classical literature.
The French Picasso Foundation, the owner of most of
Picasso's artistic works, is strongly supporting the
exhibition.
