Snowboarding at Nanshan Skiing Resort

2005/02/01

Nanshan Skiing Resort held its annual snowboarding contest at the Nanshan Mellow Snowboard Park on January 8-9, 2005. Four female and four male contestants emerged as winners of the competition, with entrants coming from more than 10 countries, including China, the United States, Korea, New Zealand and Finland. High-standard ski runs and complicated and astonishing movements excited both professional judges and audiences. The event reached its climax when several foreign competitors gave exciting performances.

Nanshan Skiing Resort, the largest of its kind in North China, offers skiing, waterskiing, summer skiing on grass and hang gliding. It has 10 trails for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, and the country's first snowboarding park, which was designed and built by Mellow Construction Austria. In addition, it owns China's first advanced mogul trail, Waves Slope, a children's snowmobile course, and the first snow football ground for six players. (Tel: +86 10 8428 6688, 6445 0990)
