Shenyang International Ice and Snow Festival 2005

Venue: Qipan Mountain in the eastern suburbs of Shenyang

Visitors may view snow and ice sculptures, go skiing or skating. Three hundred snow sculptures with 620,000 cubic metres of snow are featured. The snow sculpture "Potala Palace," one of the most well-known shrines in Tibetan Buddhism, located in Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is the biggest of all with 12,800 cubic metres of snow.
