Justine's Patisserie Adds Gallery W

2004/08/01

Justine's Patisserie has added new attraction for diners to consider. Gallery W was launched as an extension of their dessert shop. Customers can now shop and enjoy dessert while viewing a range of fine art. The owner of the gallery, Wang Yi, who is also the designer of Justine's Patisserie, first proposed this idea and got strong support from the Jianguo Hotel.

Wang said he once passed through a similar shop in Europe and was inspired to import this innovation to Beijing. The gallery does not aim to sell the paintings, but to offer Justine's customers a place where they can relax and enjoy life. Artists who sign contracts get chances to promote themselves.

The works exhibited in Gallery W include oil paintings, ink paintings, sculptures and ceramic crafts representing Chinese culture and contemporary concepts and skills of Chinese artists.

The works of at least two painters will be shown in the gallery each month along with other kinds of art work. News and introductions to the artists can be found in the elevator hall of the hotel and inside the gallery. The staff there can also communicate with art lovers in Chinese and fluent English.
