Beijing Auto Show Wins International Plaudits
2004/07/01
More than 300 international auto manufacturers that attended
the Beijing Auto Show, which ran June 6-13, 2004, were
impressed by the passion of Chinese fans, according to Xinhua
News Agency.
The zest that Beijing spectators showed was really exciting,
although some people did not want to buy at the moment. About
400,000 visitors indicated that China has great potential for
the auto industry, said Reinhard Nickel, senior manager of
after sales service and projects for Audi China.
The Beijing Auto Show, which is held every other year, aims
to display new technologies and new products, and to discuss
hot issues in auto development. Industry sources view the auto
show as the most crowded exhibition in China, which indicates
the people's strong desire to own family cars.
The hectic eight-day show earned organizers more than US$1
million, with entry tickets selling at 30 yuan (US$3.62) for
ordinary visitors and 60 yuan (US$7.25) for professionals.
