China's Int'l Arts and Entertainment Group Founded

BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhuanet) China's International Arts and Entertainment Group has been established in Beijing, and is the first large state-owned cultural enterprise to be approved by the State Council.

The group fuses the China Performing Arts Agency and the China International Exhibition Center in the hope of providing a wider variety of cultural activities and information to the general public.

As the country's cultural business leader, the group will continue to serve as the main official channel of cultural exchanges with foreign countries, and play a more active role in introducing Chinese culture and arts to the world.

Many culture-related businesses will be represented by the new organization, like performance, exhibition, books, production of audio and video as well as websites.
