There has been human habitation in the Beijing area for 500,000 years from the Paleolithic Period when Peking man started living in the area. As a result there are a lot of valuable relics in and around Beijing. We will spend 2 days visiting some of these relics - Yan Capital City Relics, Peking Man site, tomb of King Liujian, Haotian Tower of Liao Dynasty, Yunju Temple, etc.

Driving 2: Shangzhai Cultural Trip (May 29 - 30)

The emergence of Shangzhai Culture marks the time when people living in the Beijing area moved on from living in caves and a simple hunter / gatherer lifestyle to enter Agriculture Society. We will spend two days visiting the historical relics of Shangzhai Culture and Huangyaguan Great Wall.
