Letter to the Editors

2004/04/01

Dear Editor,

Im particularly interested in cultural activities in and around Beijing but have found most English-language articles to be either too simplified or, even worse, too convoluted! Any help to shed more light on the subject would be welcome.

Best wishes,

Barbara

Dear Barbara,

Thanks for your suggestion that we will take on board for future issues of the magazine.

In the meantime,I hope you find that our cultural coverage in this edition of BTM provides you some fresh insights and inspiration.

Dear editor,

It was good to see some coverage given to a subject much overlooked by the media in China in your March edition - vegetarianism!

Foreigners who have spent any serious amount of time in China tend to fall in love with its cuisine very quickly. Perhaps not so many fully appreciate the fantastic variety of vegetables and the endless number of cooking styles in which they can be prepared.

How about asking a chef to share some vegetarian secrets with readers of BTM? The health benefits cannot be denied and neither can the taste!

A listing of all Beijing s specialist vegetarian restaurants would also be a great help to those of us who love our greens!

Keep up the good work.

Alicia Davenport, Beijing

Dear Alicia,

Your positive feedback is appreciated. Well do our best to keep vegetarians in the picture in our future coverage of Chinese cuisine.
